PMT™ brings Educational Hope for the Future with The Family Africa EaziTeach™ Programme

Pattern Matched Technologies^™ continues to strengthen its partnership and collaboration with The Family Africa organisation that is bringing actual aspiration for the future with its incredible initiatives.

The EaziTeach^™ programme has continued to grow by rolling out more EaziTeach™ programmes to new pre-schools. PMT™ is motivated by this programme as it enables teachers at ECD (Early Childhood Development) centres using their android phones to connect to flat screens, sharing access to thousands of educational resources, reading schemes and numeracy activities.

ECD centres are the pillars of education and essential to bridge equity gaps and overcome multigenerational poverty and unlocking a child’s potential. 

The EaziTeach^™ programme was charted by PMT^™ CEO, Markus Schorn, and Markus says “It is often difficult for corporates to know how to contribute to the most vulnerable parts of society, and specifically children and the incredible potential each child represents in the future of the nation“.

“The Family Africa immediately saw what the opportunity was, and with a great deal of care and commitment, started to roll the programme out. The joy of just seeing the young faces, the smiles, the enquiring engagements, even the fun of interaction with a media channel, is deeply gratifying, and I thank Family Africa with great humility for their 20 year’s effort to bring light, joy and learning to those where many other parts of society have abandoned them”.

PMT^™ is also assisting in the growth of teachers and has sponsored the training of 15 teachers from The Family Africa to further their education over the last year, they will complete an end-user computing (National Certificate programme – NQF Level 3) course as part of this training. This will help support the programme even further.

Some of The Family Africa teachers that were sponsored the training, shared their personal feedback with us. Sipho said, “the PMT^™ training helped me a lot. I now can use a spreadsheet to compare information and how much income we made”.

Mama Peace says, “I would like to thank PMT^™ for the leadership [and] advanced assessments because now I now have basic computer skills which help me with my admin thank you PMT”.

Delisile shared that “PMT’s training helped me a lot with basics computer skills. Now I found myself interested [in] using a computer. I used to favour using a notebook and pen, almost all my school admin is now done on a computer. Thanks to PMT^™ for giving me a head start”.

How is The EaziTeach™ Programme Bringing Real Hope for the Future?

The Family Africa team has already rolled out the EaziTeach™ programme to around 60 creches so far. Some creches are making great progress with the donated SMART TVs, unfortunately not all the crèches have gotten access to Smart TVs, but PMT™ is committed to helping with this programme as much as possible. But there is still good news as whatever stage of progress each creche is at, all of them are benefitting from the free training programmes and the daily and weekly planners which is sent to teachers phones every Sunday ready for the week ahead, so all have access to the EaziTeach™ digital resources.

The Family Africa team has also spent a lot of time mentoring individual teachers who have questions and give advice whenever needed as well as conduct on-site follow up visits. The Family Africa team has also been empowering parents to the educators as well as so many other impactful initiatives.

The Family Africa team says, “We are seeing real progress with children learning to read, speaking English and a range of other literacy and numeracy skills”. The team goes on to say, “It is just the beginning, but we will keep moving forward to make our dream a reality for thousands of preschool children getting the best education possible despite the poverty and poor conditions”.  PMT™ is committed to this wonderful vision and will continue to stand and support The Family Africa team to make this dream a reality.

Just before the start of winter the PMT™ team once again took part in The Family Africa Blanket Drive to donate over 500 blankets to people in need and making sure these families were warm over the winter.
